Nepal's judoka Punam Shrestha eliminated at Asian Games in Japan after loss to Indian opponent

On Thursday, October 1, 2026, Nepali judoka Punam Shrestha was eliminated from the 20th Asian Games in Japan after losing to an Indian opponent in the women's under-70 kg category at the Aichi International Arena. This marked Nepal's fifth judo elimination out of seven categories. Four other Nepali judokas had been eliminated earlier. Sujan Gurung was set to compete in the men's under-90 kg event, and Nepal will also participate in the mixed team event.
