Albanian president makes first official visit to UAE

Albanian President Bajram Begaj made his first official visit to the United Arab Emirates on September 14, 2026, in Abu Dhabi. He met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other senior officials. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties, focusing on economic cooperation and investment in infrastructure, energy, and tourism. President Begaj thanked the UAE for its support during past crises, including the Kosovo war, the 2019 earthquake, and the 2022 cyberattack. The leaders agreed to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
