Amnesty International accuses Rwanda-backed M23 rebels of forcing miners in Congo to work and smuggling minerals

The report details abuses including killings, torture, and forced labor, and says the rebels smuggle minerals such as coltan and gold to Rwanda. Amnesty Secretary General Agnès Callamard called for international action and accountability, stating that Rwanda has illegally profited from Congo's mineral wealth. The report is based on interviews with 26 people and analysis of photos and video footage.
