A royal commission into alleged corruption in Victoria's infrastructure projects is set to open its first hearing. The inquiry, established by Premier Ben Carroll, will investigate corruption and misconduct on major public projects. It follows a report by Geoffrey Watson SC estimating $15 billion was lost to corrupt conduct by the CFMEU. The commission, led by Christopher Kourakis, has a $50 million budget and will report by August 2027.
