MSCI reports venture capital led Asia-Pacific private-market returns in Q2 2026

In the second quarter of 2026, venture capital led private-market returns in the Asia-Pacific region, according to MSCI. The MSCI Asia-Pacific Private Equity Closed-End Fund Index returned 3.4%, with venture capital delivering 6.1%, up from 3.7% in the previous quarter. Infrastructure also performed well, returning 2.7%, slightly above global peers. Real estate remained muted at 1%, while private credit returned 1.9%. Late-stage startups, especially in artificial intelligence, drove venture capital returns, according to Courtney Scharff of MSCI.
