Ryan Lasko, a 24-year-old outfielder in the Oakland Athletics organization, was paralyzed after a collision with a teammate during a minor league game in Texas. He underwent emergency spinal surgery and was flown to New Jersey, where he spent two months at the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation.
