Australian executive Ye Khaung Kyaw freed from Myanmar jail after 100 days over financial allegations

In Yangon, Myanmar, a court released Australian business executive Ye Khaung Kyaw, also known as Danny, on Tuesday after he had been detained for over 100 days over financial misconduct allegations. He had headed the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar. The court's ruling concluded proceedings, but it is unclear if he was convicted, had charges dismissed, or was deported. The allegations involved a $300,000 contract with U.S. lobbying firm Mercury Public Affairs. Former chamber president Adam Castillo was released and deported last week. Supporters say the allegations were baseless.
