UK energy regulator raises price cap 4% for households in England, Scotland and Wales

The typical annual bill will rise to £1,723, an increase of £60 per year. The rise is due to higher wholesale gas prices linked to the Middle East conflict. Households without smart meters are advised to submit meter readings before the change to avoid being charged higher rates for energy used earlier.
