Ghana and coach Carlos Queiroz part ways after two losses in Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers
On October 1, 2026, Ghana's national football team and coach Carlos Queiroz parted ways by mutual consent after a poor start to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Ghana lost their first two matches, 2-0 away to Ivory Coast and 4-2 at home to Gambia. Queiroz, who had been reappointed in September after leading Ghana at the 2026 World Cup, won only one of seven games in charge. The Ghana Football Association now must find a new coach before qualifiers against Somalia in November.
