Thailand's September inflation rises to 2.82% on higher fuel and food prices
Thailand's headline consumer price index rose 2.82% in September from a year earlier, accelerating from 2.53% in August, according to the Commerce Ministry. The increase was driven by higher fuel and food prices, with recent flooding adding to food supply disruptions. The reading remained within the central bank's 1% to 3% target range but was below market forecasts. The ministry raised its 2026 inflation forecast to 1.8% to 2.2%. Core inflation rose 1.5% year-on-year. The central bank is expected to keep its key rate unchanged at its next meeting on October 28.
