Singapore's Loh Kean Yew beats world number one Jonatan Christie to reach Asian Games badminton semifinals

In Nagoya, Japan, on Sunday, Singapore's Loh Kean Yew defeated world number one Jonatan Christie of Indonesia in the Asian Games badminton men's singles quarterfinals, winning 21-14, 21-19. This victory secured Loh a place in the semifinals and guaranteed him at least a bronze medal, marking Singapore's first men's singles badminton medal at the Asian Games. Loh, ranked 13th, had never beaten Christie in their previous 10 meetings. He will face either Japan's Kodai Naraoka or South Korea's Yoo Tae-bin in the semifinals on Monday.
