OpenAI publishes 722 AI-generated mathematics papers, including results on three Millennium Prize Problems
OpenAI has released a large collection of AI-generated mathematical results, including 722 papers covering 372 problem families. The company says the results include advances related to three Millennium Prize Problems, such as the Riemann hypothesis. This follows earlier controversy over OpenAI's claim to have solved a 90-year-old problem in fluid dynamics, which drew criticism from mathematicians. OpenAI says it consulted an independent advisory group and plans to work with the mathematical community to verify and understand the results.
