In Cincinnati, home plate umpire Manny Gonzalez left the game between the San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds after collapsing from heat exhaustion at the end of the fourth inning. The game was played on a hot night with temperatures near 90 degrees. Gonzalez received treatment for dehydration and elevated blood pressure before walking to the dugout.
