Western powers draft resolution to report Iran to U.N. Security Council

Iran has been found in noncompliance with its nuclear nonproliferation obligations by the IAEA in June 2025. Following military actions by the U.S. and Israel against its nuclear sites, Iran has denied access to IAEA inspectors. In response, the United States, Britain, France, and Germany have drafted a resolution to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council, emphasizing the need for a diplomatic solution while facing challenges from Iran's allies.
