His mother and agent, Fayza Lamari, was a big fan of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and wanted him to move to Anfield. She visited the club and fell in love with it. Klopp also met Mbappe on a private jet to persuade him. However, Mbappe chose to join Paris Saint-Germain instead, because he wanted to play in his hometown. He spent seven years at PSG, becoming their top scorer, before moving to Real Madrid in 2024.
