Westlife singer Mark Feehily sues surgeon Nick Carter over weight-loss surgery in Ireland

Westlife singer Mark Feehily has filed a medical negligence lawsuit against surgeon Nick Carter over a weight-loss operation performed in August 2020. The surgery, a laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, allegedly led to recurring sepsis and other health problems. Feehily, 46, has been open about his health struggles, which forced him to step back from the band in 2024. His legal team, Leigh Day Solicitors, filed the claim at the High Court in Ireland. Carter denies negligence. Feehily's bandmates continue their anniversary tour without him.
