The International Criminal Court announced on Monday that it will unseal arrest warrants against four senior Taliban leaders in Afghanistan, accusing them of crimes against humanity for gender persecution. The warrants target supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada, chief justice Abdul Hakim Haqqani, education minister Habibullah Agha, and higher education minister Neda Mohammad Nadim. The charges relate to policies that have barred women from education, jobs, and public spaces since the Taliban took power in 2021. The ICC has no police force to execute the warrants, making arrests unlikely.
