On September 20, 2026, at the World Manufacturing Convention in Hefei, China, CXMT, the country's leading DRAM chipmaker, announced that its fifth-generation technology platform has entered mass production. The new platform reduces the spacing of key features to 11.95 nanometers, allowing more memory per chip and increasing chip yield per wafer by at least 50%. CXMT also unveiled two 24-gigabit LPDDR5X products, which hold 50% more data than previous versions and are already in mass production. This development strengthens China's position in the global memory chip market and reduces its reliance on foreign technology.
