US President Donald Trump says he will fire advisers if their work for a pro-Russian Balkan government creates a conflict

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump distanced himself from two top political advisers, Chris LaCivita and James Blair, after a New York Times report revealed they had traveled to Republika Srpska, a pro-Russian territory in Bosnia and Herzegovina, for paid consulting work. Trump wrote on Truth Social that they are outside consultants and that he would terminate them if their work presents a conflict. The advisers were reportedly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars through a Washington law firm retained by Republika Srpska's government. The revelation comes less than 30 days before U.S. midterm elections.
