On October 1, 2026, Hull City midfielder Lucas Gourna-Douath was involved in a car accident on Millhouse Woods Lane in Cottingham, England, near the club's training ground. The crash occurred at 8:30 a.m., and no one was injured. This is the second such incident on the same road in three weeks, after teammate Sorba Thomas crashed there on September 11. Humberside Police attended the scene, and the club confirmed no harm. Local councillor Phil Redshaw had previously asked the club to remind players to drive carefully.
