China and United States agree on coal imports and trade measures after Washington summit

During a three-day summit in Washington, D.C., US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping reached trade agreements to ease tensions. China committed to import at least 10 million tonnes of American coal in 2027 and 2028. The two sides also agreed to pursue more favorable tariffs on $30 billion of non-sensitive goods and established new working groups on agriculture and investment. These steps aim to reduce trade frictions and strengthen economic cooperation between the world's two largest economies.
