Olympic champion speedskater Jutta Leerdam, a 27-year-old Dutch athlete, announced she will not compete this season. In a YouTube video, she said she is not fully retiring but needs a break. Leerdam won gold in the 1,000 meters and silver in the 500 meters at the Milan Cortina Winter Games in February. She was in New York with her fiancé Jake Paul and plans to create more social media content. She will miss the European Championships and world championships this winter.
