Dana Altman retires as University of Oregon men's basketball coach after 16 seasons

Dana Altman, the winningest coach in University of Oregon men's basketball history, retired effective immediately on October 7, 2026. The 68-year-old coach led the Ducks for 16 seasons, compiling a 382-182 record and making nine NCAA Tournament appearances, including a 2017 Final Four. His retirement follows a difficult 12-20 season and significant roster turnover. Assistant coach Tony Stubblefield will serve as interim head coach for the upcoming season.
