Singapore is studying new safety measures for high-risk AI uses as autonomous systems create risks existing safeguards may not fully address. Minister Josephine Teo said in a parliamentary reply on October 6 that measures could include rigorous testing and stronger oversight. On October 7, Senior Minister Tan Kiat How said the government is running trials to implement agentic AI responsibly. No cyber attack involving an unsupervised AI agent against government agencies has been reported. The government is also working internationally on frontier AI safeguards.
