The Montreal Canadiens announced on Monday that they have signed head coach Martin St. Louis to a multiyear contract extension, keeping him with the team through the 2029-30 season. St. Louis, who took over in February 2022 on an interim basis, has led the Canadiens to consecutive playoff appearances, including a trip to the Eastern Conference final in 2025. He was a finalist for the Jack Adams Award as coach of the year. The team's general manager praised his leadership, and captain Nick Suzuki called him his favourite coach. St. Louis, a Hall of Fame player, has a 163-155-47 record entering his sixth season.
