House panel votes to hold Leon Black in contempt in Epstein probe

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee voted unanimously, 41-0, to recommend that the full House hold billionaire Leon Black in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with two subpoenas related to its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Black, a former head of Apollo Global Management, had a business relationship with Epstein and paid him over $158 million for advice. He left a voluntary interview early and later sued to block the subpoenas. The resolution now goes to the House floor for a vote, which Chairman James Comer expects on Thursday. Black's attorneys called the action retaliation and an abuse of power.
