San Francisco 49ers open practice window for defensive end Mykel Williams after ACL injury

The San Francisco 49ers, an NFL team in the United States, opened the practice window for defensive end Mykel Williams on Wednesday, October 1, 2026. Williams, who tore his ACL in November 2025, participated in his first team practice since the injury. He has been on the physically unable to perform list and is expected to return to play in Week 5 against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers are dealing with multiple injuries on the defensive line, including Nick Bosa and Keion White, making Williams' return crucial. The team also signed receiver Dante Pettis to the practice squad to address depth issues.
