Gibbon Conservation Center celebrates 50 years of dedicated care

In the U.S., the Gibbon Conservation Center has dedicated 50 years to the care of gibbons. Founded by Alan Mootnick in 1976, the center has transformed from a small animal shelter into a globally recognized institution. Director Gabi Skollar, who moved from Hungary in 2005, now lives on-site and cares for the gibbons, some of which are endangered. The center's efforts include breeding programs and collaborations with local organizations to educate students about animal care.
