Elderly woman dies after being struck by car in Co Mayo

In Co Mayo, an elderly woman was critically injured after being hit by a car in Ballinrobe on August 20, 2026. She was walking on Glebe Street when the accident occurred around 4.20pm. Despite being taken to Mayo General Hospital for treatment, she later died from her injuries. Gardaí are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses.
