Samsung Electronics, the world's largest memory-chip maker, is expected to report a nearly nine-fold jump in third-quarter operating profit, driven by robust AI demand. The company projects operating profit of 106.1 trillion won ($79.1 billion) for the July-September quarter, up from 12.17 trillion won a year earlier. However, the pace of memory chip price increases slowed, and the South Korean won strengthened, posing headwinds. Samsung's memory-chip operating profit margin is expected to remain flat at 76%. The company will release preliminary results on Thursday.
