A survey of 4,000 people aged 11 to 24 in England found that 47% trust AI over humans for fact-checking, and 87% already use AI tools. The report, co-authored by Sir Anthony Seldon and Tim Bunting, warns that schools are not preparing students for an AI-driven world and calls for a national action plan. Additionally, a separate study found that 13% of young people have sought emotional support from generative AI, and experiments show AI responses can be rated as more supportive than human ones, though this advantage diminishes when people know the message is from AI.
