Jimmer Fredette quits USA Basketball job to return to playing

Jimmer Fredette, a former NBA player and Olympic 3x3 competitor, has stepped down as managing director of USA Basketball's men's 3x3 program to resume his playing career. He will return to the court for the first time in over two years, playing for Team Miami at the FIBA 3x3 Phoenix Challenger. Fredette retired in April 2025 after an injury at the Paris Olympics, but now feels ready to compete again. His wife supported the decision, and USA Basketball expressed gratitude for his work.
