Amazon to invest $3 billion in India quick commerce expansion by 2030

Amazon, the US e-commerce retailer, will invest $3 billion to expand its quick commerce business in India by 2030, according to sources. The investment will be phased, with $1 billion by 2027 and $2 billion by 2030. Amazon aims to increase its neighborhood warehouses from 750 to 1,300 by April next year. The company's quick commerce business has already surpassed $1 billion in annualized gross sales. Amazon currently holds a 6.2% market share, competing with rivals like Blinkit, Swiggy, and Zepto, which control 77% of the market. The sector is projected to grow from $19 billion to $41 billion by 2030.
