Ex-miner survives 30ft fall into sinkhole at camping park

In July 2026, Ian Haynes, a 62-year-old former miner, fell into a sinkhole at Higher Trevaskis Caravan and Camping Park in Connor Downs, England. The sinkhole appeared under his parked car, causing him to plunge approximately 30 feet into water. Emergency services rescued him shortly after the incident, and he was treated for minor injuries. However, he is now dealing with PTSD as a result of the traumatic experience.
