Rosatom chief says Ukrainian drones hit two facilities at Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, killing a driver
On Monday, Ukrainian drones attacked two facilities at the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southeastern Ukraine, according to Rosatom chief Alexei Likhachev. A driver delivering food for plant employees was killed. The targets were a laboratory building and a radioactive waste processing plant. Ukraine has not commented. The plant, seized by Russia in 2022, needs external power to cool nuclear fuel, but recent shelling has damaged power lines, forcing reliance on diesel generators. Russia accused the West of enabling the attack by failing to condemn it.
