Sonny Gray Unsure of Future After Red Sox Playoff Loss
On Wednesday night, the Boston Red Sox lost 9-2 to the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the AL Wild Card series, ending their season. Starting pitcher Sonny Gray, who led the American League with 18 wins this year, was removed in the fifth inning with the score 1-0, and the bullpen allowed eight more runs. After the game, Gray, a free agent, said he was not ruling out retirement, though he added he has a lot of baseball left in him. The Red Sox had recovered from being 14 games under .500 to make the playoffs.
