Princess the boa constrictor wins starring role at the Met
In New York, the Metropolitan Opera held auditions for a snake in its adaptation of Mozart's "Così fan tutte." Zoe Ziegfeld, the snake handler, evaluated each snake's comfort and stage presence. A boa constrictor named Princess was chosen for the role, while another named Nala will be her understudy. This production is inspired by Coney Island in the 1950s and marks Ziegfeld's third time in the role.
