Russia achieved full self-sufficiency in potatoes in 2025, with the self-sufficiency rate reaching 100.3%, up from 92% in 2024. This represents an increase of 8.3 percentage points. The data, from Rosstat and analyzed by RIA Novosti, shows that 32 regions exceeded 100% self-sufficiency, with Bryansk and Astrakhan regions above 200%. The last time Russia exceeded 100% was in 2023 at 101%, and before that in 2015 at 102.1%. The highest level in 25 years was in 2011 at 110.6%.
